Christmas Eve
Today has been a busy day so far, with our main focus being Luke's comfort and pain control. Things are looking up after the surgery and not only is the leak in his lung way less than before surgery, but it looks a tiny bit better now than it did last night.
There have been some wonderful Christmas Eve experiences so far. Earlier today we heard some beautiful Christmas music coming from a harpist and a family musical ensemble, out near the nurse's station. Luke's grandparents (Owen & Carol) have been here since last night, Brad & Quinton Ambridge as well as Glen and Carolyn Lewis came to visit, along with a surprise visit from Steve & Braiden Young (thanks to Susan Miguel).........not to mention the one & only Santa Claus!!!
Luke remains incredibly strong, in spite of his pain & discomfort. We are so happy that things went well last night and we are very hopeful that he will make a full recovery.
Thank you for the continued love & support.

dear luke,
merry christmas from your great uncle mike (scott)and family. we've been keeping up with your latest surgery via my sweet sister susie.
your huge trials with your health in this life have been both a source of sadness and happiness to us...sad because of your continual suffering and happy because both you and your family have truly passed the test the Lord gave to all of you by allowing you to come to such a wonderful mother, father, sister and grandparents on both sides of your family tree.
i told susie today that everytime i think of your illness i remember the blind man who was born blind until Jesus healed him. the apostles wondered why he had been blind and the Savior told them it was so he could be healed by Him to show the mercy and power of the Lord. Imagine, waiting all your life to be given your sight by the Lord. He was a special person like you whose mission in life was to help others learn mercy and love for those who suffer from illnesses such as yours.
the good news is that you've learned to love others and also accomplish more than most others and have become an inspiration to all who know you which has blessed their lives and given them understanding of the "tender mercies of the Lord."
Your g-aunt marilyn and i with your great uncle dan and 2nd cousin michelle (your mom's cousin) have a prayer in our hearts for your comfort and success this coming week.
again, we love you and your dear family. you mean everything to all of us.
have a nice christmas day,
mike, marilyn, dan and michelle in Santa Rosa.
